Strengthening our commitment to sustainability
A key feature of FEPA’s Annual Conference was the business forum held on the morning of June 6. This event provided a platform to evaluate our sector’s sustainability achievements for the 2023/2024 period. The workshop attracted a dedicated and expanding community of 90 experts, managers and CEOs, all united in their resolve to champion sustainability within our industry.
Three experts shared their insights and experiences during this productive morning.
Joshua Morshead from Sphera presented on carbon reporting, Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) and Product Category Rule (PCR) in a relevant and practical manner. He emphasized how FEPA members can apply these tools in conducting Life-Cycle Analysis (LCA) of products and publishing Environmental Product Declarations (EPD).
Jean-Marc Giraudeau from EFESO Management discussed key issues relating to calculating a plant’s carbon footprint and the launch of the SEAM Carbon Footprint Project. His presentation focused on developing a simplified calculation tool tailored to our industry, aiding participants in accurately measuring their carbon footprint.
Mauro Rullo from Confindustria Ceramica shared important lessons learned from the Italian ceramics industry regarding PCR preparation. His presentation provided valuable method and feedback, offering practical insights that can be applied to our own processes.
The Q&A session once again emphasized the commitment of FEPA members and their determination to address the challenges of this transition. We look forward to reconvening next year to review our progress and reaffirm our dedication to these goals.
