The recent workshops with the participating members provided us with a first overview of the collective carbon footprint for the SEAM group.These Scopes 1 & 2 figures serve as a critical reference point for future progress, highlighting our collective effort to minimize environmental impact.

These emissions are equivalent to those generated annually by:
👉 a city with 10,000 to 15,000 inhabitants
👉 more than 20,000 cars

This data covering direct (Scope 1) and indirect (Scope 2) emissions from 48 production sites across Europe, underscores our sector’s dedication. With 9 additional managers now proficient in carbon calculation methodologies, SEAM members are equipped to drive meaningful change throughout the sector.

The SEAM Carbon Footprint Project continues to make significant progress, driven by the dedication of its members. Over the past 6 months, the number of SEAM members knowing how to calculate their carbon footprint has grown from 4 to 13 companies, a 225% increase, that highlights the industry’s unwavering commitment to sustainable development.This growth underscores a shared determination among SEAM label members to lead the abrasives industry toward a more sustainable future.
